Chainsaw Helmets

A chainsaw helmet is your main bit of safety kit when you’re cutting or felling trees. It’s a tough shell that sits on your head, with a flip‑down face shield to keep wood chips and debris out of your eyes and an integrated pair of ear protectors to cut the noise. It also cushions knocks and, with a chin strap, stays firmly in place as you move and the saw kicks back. Some models have neck protection or extra visors too. Worn with other PPE like chainsaw trousers, gloves and sturdy boots, it’s what you wear to stay safer on site.

Right, a chainsaw is a portable saw with a sharp toothed chain running around a bar. We use it to cut wood quickly—felled trees, cut the trunk into lengths, remove branches (limbing), clear scrub, and rough-cut timber for fencing, building, or firewood. It’s the go-to tool when there’s big wood to move or heavy limbs to take off on site, especially after storms or during tree work.

Cordless Pruning Saws

A pruning saw is a for use when a pair of secateurs or loppers won’t cut it. The generally have a short chainsaw blade (although some are reciprical blades). It allows you to trim back thicker branches on trees and shrubs, remove dead or overgrown limbs, and reshape plants. Lighter than a normal chainsaw it’s more manoeuvrable and perfect for cuts that are too big for loppers - helping you work more quickly and cleanly than with just a hand saw.

Cordless Hedge Cutters

A cordless hedge cutter is a battery-powered tool used to trim and shape hedges and shrubs. With its long blades, you sweep along the hedge to prune back growth, create clean edges along walls and fences, and shape topiary or formal hedges. Being cordless and typically lighter and quieter than a petrol model, it’s handy for quick maintenance around the garden and for working in places where a mains cable would get in the way.

Cordless Strimmers

A cordless strimmer is a battery-powered garden tool you use to trim grass and weeds in places a mower can’t reach—along borders, edges, around trees and fences, and in awkward corners or along paths. It spins a nylon cutting line that clips the vegetation as you move it round, and being wireless it’s lighter and more manoeuvrable than a petrol or mains-powered model. It’s ideal for light to medium growth and finishing touches, not heavy brush, so for thicker stuff you’d reach for a brush cutter. Always wear eye protection and keep a safe distance from the spinning line.
