As well as my addiction, I’m someone who likes to understand how things work in practice, not just how they’re marketed.

My background combines engineering with hands-on farming and building experience in the UK. Over the years I’ve worked extensively with tools, machinery, and equipment that have to perform reliably in real conditions — fields, workshops, and building sites rather than rather than just looking good (although that is good too 😁)

I’ve been directly involved in converting old farm buildings, putting up steel-frame buildings, machinery repairs, engine rebuilds, welding and fabrication, plumbing through to electronics - and problem-solving (through necessity) when things don’t quite go to plan! It’s experience that gives you a healthy scepticism for gimmicks and a good feel for what’s solid, serviceable, and worth the money.

I don’t chase trends, write reviews to sell hype, or take any form of payment for any reviews. I aim to give clear, honest assessments based on use, experience, peer reviews, price, and common sense — the sort of information I’d want before spending my own money.

Full disclosure: I do use Amazon affiliate links to help support the cost of running this site and a little towards the time it takes.

If you value straightforward reviews, written from a practical UK perspective by someone who’s used equipment where it matters, I hope you’ll find this site useful.

Andy.

PS If there’s something specific that you’d like me to review then just let me know and I’ll see what I can do 👍
